Proponent of viewpoint that the Christian God is actively involved in all natural processes, but cannot be analyzed by science. Also a proponent of the facetious "Laminar Flood Theory", a global flood scenario in which the effects would be difficult to distinguish from normal geophysical data. [1934-] Biologist. Faculty in biology at a UC school. Author of "Modern Genetics" (1984), "Molecular Evolution" (1976), and "Studies in the Philosophy of biology: Reduction and Related Problems" (1974). Testified for the plaintiffs in the Arkansas Act 590 trial, 1981.
